TS (pressed steel cage)
This is the most basic and most widely used type of tapered roller bearing. It consists of two main separable parts: the inner race assembly and the outer race. It is typically mounted in opposing pairs on a shaft.
Size range:
ID 7.937 to 863.600 mm (0.31225 to 34.0000 in.)
OD 31.991 to 1060.000 mm (1.2595 to 41.7323 in.)
Design Attributes
Single cone and cup.
One-piece pressed steel cage retains rollers on the cone and spaces them evenly.
Pin type cages also available.
Applications
Vehicle front wheels, Differential and pinion configurations, Conveyor rolls ,Machine tool spindles ,Trailer wheels
The pin type design increases the load-carrying capacity of TS bearings by removing cage bridges (leaving more room for rollers) and featuring longer rollers.
TS (pin-type cage)
The pin type cage consists of two rings, one at each end of the rollers. Cage pins pass through the holes in the center of each roller and are threaded into one cage ring and welded into the other.
Size range:
ID 152.400 mm to 1701.800 mm
(6.0000 in. to 67.0000 in.)
OD 307.975 mm to 2032.000 mm
(12.1250 in. to 80.0000 in.)
Design Attributes
Additional rollers accomodate larger loads.
Cage features two rings at each end of the rollers.
Cage pins are threaded in the center of each roller and welded at the ends.
